He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Johnson, Sr. and Bertha Smalls Johnson; his wife Beatrice Johnson; his sons, Benjamin Elijah and Marty Dwayne Johnson; and his sister Isabell Wright.
He is survived by: his children, Beverly Ann Green (Isaac), Paula Thomas (Zachary), Lennell Robinson (Ronald Reid), Robert Lee Johnson (Sennette), Paul Johnson (Mary) and Donnell Johnson (Pamela); his parents-in-law, Carolyn Nelson, Angienet McFadden (Roger), O. B. Miller, Jr. (Deborah), Kizer Miller (Alice) and Willie Miller (Pamie); his cousins, Oneta Johnson and Wilbert; and his close friends, John Middleton and Moses Middleton. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
