He was predeceased by: his parents, Nabe Mills and Mamie Douglas Mills Caddell; and his siblings, Lillian, Lois Pipkin and Bobby Mills.
He is survived by: his children, Denise Ramirez of Oklahoma City, OK, Lisa Varner (Don) of Cullman, AL, Gaither Mills (Renee) of Cullman, AL and Vince Mills (Jeannie) of James Island; his sisters, Bertie White of Moncks Corner and June Crosby of Walterboro; and his caregiver Sherrie Mixon. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Agape Hospice of the Lowcountry; 2680 Elms Plantation Blvd., Suite 101, North Charleston, SC 29406.
