He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Leland G. Caughman, Sr. and Louise Kinard Caughman; his wife Wyoma Funk Caughman; his stepchildren, Crystal J. Powers of Macedonia, Kyle Johnson of Atlanta, Clay Johnson of Macedonia and Lannon Johnson of St. Stephen; and his sister Christine Laughead of Columbia. He was also cherished by step grandchildren and three step great grandchildren.
