He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Lamar Smith, Sr. and Geraldine Arliese Carter Smith; his son Kenneth Martin "Marty" Smith; and his brothers, Kenneth Smith Jr., Ted Eugene Smith and Mark Phillip Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Brenda Grooms Smith; his sons, Jason Todd Smith (Rona) of Moncks Corner and Toby Allen Smith (Alison) of Moncks Corner; his sister Deborah Pinson of North Charleston; his grandchildren, Nicolas Smith, Kinsey Smith, Allen Smith and Alex Smith; and his great grandchild Hadley Paige Smith.
