He was predeceased by: his parents, William Elvin Shuler and Bertie Hood Shuler Litchfield; his brothers, Aaron Shuler, Jettie Shuler, Timothy Monroe Shuler, Everette Shuler, Eli Shuler and Dorsey Shuler; his stepfather Lee Litchfield; and his stepsiblings, Velda Mitchum, Glenn Litchfield, Dempsey Litchfield and Jennings Litchfield.
He is survived by: his wife Jeanette Crawford Shuler; his children, Sharon L. Shuler of Macedonia, W. Dwayne Shuler (Donna) of Moncks Corner and E. Wayne Shuler (Gina) of Macedonia; his sisters, Blanche S. Stroud of Rock Hill and Adeline S. Pless of Rock Hill; his grandchildren, Katlyn Moran, Molly Shuler, Natalie Shuler, Rebecca Browder and Jake Hutson; and his great grandchild London Kate Moran.
