She was predeceased by: her parents, Rassie Floyd Lewis and Virginia Adell Morgan Lewis; her children, Ginger Jack and Tommy Gilchrist; her siblings, Wayne Lewis, Charles Lewis, James Lewis, Johnny Wiggs and Ruth Lewis; and her husband Alexander Gaddy Gilchrist, Sr..

She is survived by: her children, Sandy Kuntz (Paul) of Hanahan, Alexander G. Gilchrist, Jr. (Brenda) of Goose Creek and Warren Gilchrist of McCormick; and her siblings, Betsy Jones (Howard) of Springhope, NC, Joann L. Mullen (Bobby) of Zebulon, NC, Lynn L. Hawkins (David) of Zebulon, NC, Cortez M. Lewis (Alma Lee) of Louisburg, NC, Weldon G. Lewis (Carol) of Fayettville, NC and Thomas L. Lewis (Ann) of Zebulon, NC. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.
