He is survived by : his wife Jessica DeLaigle Merritt; his children, Logan DeLaigle, Zaida Merritt, Bronwyn Merritt and Quade Merritt; his father Robert Merritt, Sr.; and his siblings, Julie Logue (Tazewell), Robert Merritt and Joseph Merritt.
