John Miller Langley Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Miller Langley of McCormick, South Carolina, who passed away on February 26, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Dewey Hobson Langley, Sr. and Mary Alexandria Browne Langley; his siblings, Edwin "Ed" Langley, Alfred Langley, Hobson Langley and Carolyn L. Strom; his son John Kennedy Dowtin, Sr.; his daughter-in-law Edicta E. Dowtin; and his brothers-in-law, Jimmie P. Strom and Jimmy T. Chandler.
He is survived by: his children, Sarah Jane McCracken (Joel) of Spartanburg and David Warren Dowtin of Jacksonville, FL; his sisters, Julia L. Cummings of Irmo and Laura L. Chandler of Saluda; his sisters-in-law, Jean F. Langley of Greenwood and Doris P. Langley of Greenwood; and his grandchildren, Jessica McCracken, Brent McCracken (Ann), Gabriel Dowtin, Johnny Dowtin (Kristen) and Ryan Barnes (Jessica).
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the Troy United Methodist Church (106 Church St W, Troy, SC 29848). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
