He was predeceased by: his parents, James Marcum and Eliza Lawson Marcum; and his siblings, William, Bearden, Bendy, Jack, Hamp, Frances, Margaret, Georgie, Faye, Marie and Luana.

He is survived by: his wife Gwen Burroughs Marcum; his children, Dee Marcum of Laurinburg and Rodney Marcum (Michelle) of McColl; his sister Virginia Lee Marcum Gibson of Exeter, VA; his grandchildren, Christopher Taylor, Lindsey Taylor, Hannah Smith and Lauren Marcum; his great grandchildren, Ashlyn, Christen, Chloe, Dawson, Cutler, Blake, Taylor and Trace; and his great great grandchildren, Nate, Nash and Kason. He is also survived by family members and friends.
