It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Miriam Griggs (McColl, South Carolina), born in Bennettsville, South Carolina, who passed away on August 23, 2019, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Emerson Ford and Eva Mae Chavis; her brothers, Wayne Chavis and Jerry Chavis; and her niece Amber Brooke Langley.
She is survived by: her children, Rodney Griggs (Doris) of Morven, NC and Becky Griggs Leonard (Steven) of Morven, NC; her sisters, Brenda Chavis Moody of Bennettsville, SC, Ruby Chavis Hatcher of Cheraw, SC and Nina Chavis Leviner of Bennettsville, SC; her grandchildren, Abigail, Michael, David and Ethan Leonard; and her close friend Roland Stuckey.
