He is survived by: his wife Annie Ruth Smith; his children, Sara Chavis (Donnie) of McColl, Wanda Jackson (Mike) of McColl, Isham Smith (Rose) of Laurinburg, NC, Blanche Wyland of Laurinburg, NC, Charles Smith (Julie) of McColl and Patrick Smith (Tamara) of Maxton, NC; and his siblings, Pete Smith (Janice) of McColl, Percy Smith of McColl, Jessie Bryant of McColl and Mary Goins of Hamlet, NC. He is also survived by nineteen grandchildren; forty great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends.
