He was predeceased by: his parents, David Derrick Newton, Sr. and Eva Brigman Newton; his son-in-law Logan E. Land; his nephew William Newton, Jr.; and his brother-in-law Larry Smith.
He is survived by: his daughter Evie Newton Norton (David) of McColl, SC; his siblings, Donald Newton of McColl, SC and Jenny Smith of McColl, SC; his granddaughter Elizabeth Faye Norton; his nieces and nephews, Lindsay Newton, Brittany Newton, Gracie Shy, Mary Newton-Butler, Regina Shelley, Brayden Williams, Cam Shy and Dave Williams; and his close friends, Alice Strickland, April, Troy, Skylar and Micaela Hunt.
In accordance with COVID-19 health and safety regulations, everyone is asked to wear facial coverings and abide by social distancing guidelines within the church and at graveside.
