He was predeceased by: his wife Janie Manigault Simmons; and his mother Lizzie Cash. He is survived by: his children, Lottie Mae Simmons, Rosemary (Arthur G. Washington, II) of Washington, Carolyn Copemann (Dennis), Larry Simmons and Audrey Simmons; his grandchildren, Warren Simmons, Maurice Simmons, Justin Simmons, James Copemann, Nicole Copemann, Herbert Copemann and Arthur Bradwell, Jr. of Washington; and his siblings, Nellie Heathers and James Cash.
