He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Phillip Richards, Sr. and Gladys Jones Richards; his siblings, John J. Richards, Mary R. Richtermeyer, Anne R. Guerry, Susan R. Clark and Bernadette R. Knisley; and his daughter Dianne R. Wadell.
He is survived by: his sister Irene R. Bennett; his brothers-in-law, Edward L. Knisley, Sr. of Charleston and Richard Richtermeyer of Charleston; and his sons, Edward P. Richards III of Charleston and Mark W. Richards (Susanne) of Charleston. He is also survived by his five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital (http://www.stjude.org) an organization dear to Eddie's heart.
