He was predeceased by: his brother J. B. Hopkins (Cathy Link). He is survived by: his children, Charla Hopkins, Nancy Creel (Eric), Catherine Ford (Winkie) and James Hopkins, Jr. (Jessica); and his siblings, Vernon Hopkins, Margaret Cranford and Linda Cranford. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, four great grandchildren.
