She was predeceased by: her parents, Maggie Kelly and Robert Thearon Marshall; her son Ben Atkinson; her husband Robert Bennett Atkinson; and her siblings, Zella Blackwell, Corine Lewis, Rebecca Piper (Basil), Rachel Marshall, Virginia Fournier, Needham Marshall and Bobby Marshall.

She is survived by: her nieces and nephews, Brenda Rayfield of Rock Hill, SC, Diane Wojewodzic of Clayton, NC, Gene Marshall Lewis of Anderson, SC, Vair Lewis of Abbeville, SC and Roy Lapel of Middlebury, VT..

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Union United Methodist Church General Fund, 4379 Union Church Road, McBee, SC 29101, or Connie Maxwell Children's Home, PO Box 1178, Greenwood SC 29648.
