With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Derrick Roddell Hopkins Jr. (Mayesville, South Carolina), who passed away on March 6, 2021 at the age of 28. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Elizabeth Lawson and Derrick Lamont Hopkins, Sr.; his great-grandparent Carrie Lawson; his siblings, Lakeenya Dyer, Rackwon Hopkins and Shiead Jackson; his nephew Hayden Dyer-Richardson; his grandparents, Betty Jean Lawson, Laurastein Thomas (Keith) and Wardell Plowden (Cynthia); his aunts and uncles, John Lawson (Tanya-White), Marcus Lawson, Terrance Hopkins (Keisha), LaTanya Glencamp (Fred), Selina Lawson, Warnesish Titus and Shaneen Plowden; and his close friend Renee Glover. He was also cherished by cousins, other relatives, family and friends.
In accordance with the COVID 19 guidelines, the family is requesting face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during visitation at the home, 3690 Britton Brogdon Road, Sumter.
