He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas J. McDonald and Bessie Irene Burns McDonald; his wife Betty "Joyce" McDonald; and his son-in-law Ron Franklin, Jr.. He is survived by: his daughters, Janet M. Cofield (Tommy) of Lexington, SC and Joy M. Franklin (late Ron Franklin) of Mt. Pleasant; his grandchildren, T. J. Cofield of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Caitlin Cofield Radecki (Tyler) of Nashville, TN, Summer Franklin Arnold (Garrett) of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Ron Franklin III of Mt. Pleasant, SC; his great grandchild John Arnold; his sisters, Polly M. Moss and Ann M. Beatty of Spartanburg, SC.; and also Methodist.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that gifts be made to Connie Maxwell Children's Home Healing Center fund or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
