It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Derrick Thompson of Mauldin, South Carolina, who passed away on November 14, 2023, at the age of 59, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Fred Blassingame and Sophie Thompson Herrera; his daughters, Sade McGee of Greenville, SC, Brittany McGee of Piedmont, SC, Jamila Jones of Spartanburg, SC and Malique Jones of Detroit, MI; and his siblings, April Williams (James) of Anderson, SC, Melinda Gillispie (Dale) of Fountain Inn, SC and Kenneth Thompson of Greer, SC. He was also cherished by eight grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
