He was predeceased by: his parents, Marion Townsend and Martha Ruth Greenlee Ayers. He is survived by: his children, Debbie Edwards, Dr. Gregory L. Ayers, Ruthie McCraw and Dr. Mark A. Ayers. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
