It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Johnnie Tisdell (Marion, South Carolina), born in Dillon, South Carolina, who passed away on October 16, 2021, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Florence Tisdell and Bill Tisdell (William); his siblings, William, Leo, Marvin Tisdell, Annie Lou, Irene, Gedell, Retha Bell and Mary Jane; and his siblings-in-law, Joe, Robert Jackson, Margaret Drawhorn, Dorothy Pugh, Annie Bell Thompson and Mary Lee Jackson.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Jackson Tisdell; his children, James Douglas Tisdell, Johnnie Tisdell (Glenda), Glendell Godbold (Johnny), Janie T. Thomas and Fletcher Tisdell (Diane); his grandchildren, James Godbold, Derrick Grant, Kioma Grant, Bradford Tisdell, Latrell Thomas-Beaty (LaKenred), Mitchell Thomas, Yolanda Thomas, Adriene Godbold-Page (Karmarius), Andril Godbold, Bryant Reid and Monique Tisdell; his son Dennis Avant; his grandchildren, Michael Godbold and Jordan Bell; and his siblings-in-law, Josephine Hunter, Inez Eaddy, James and Eugene Jackson. He is also survived by nieces, nephew, cousins, and friends.
