He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Alfred (Baker) and Helen McAllister Baker; his stepfather Ernest Steinke; his sister Betty Baker; his former wife Anne Rogers Baker; his son George "Ben" Baker; and his grandfather Jim.
He is survived by: his wife Jennie McGill Baker of Mullins, SC; his children, James M. Baker, Jr. (Lisa) and Vicki Bridgman (Steve); his daughter-in-law Janine Baker; his brother Calvin Baker, Sr. (Frances); his grandchildren, Christine (Daniel), Zachary Baker, William, Madelyn Baker and Darielle Graves; his stepdaughters, Mary Goetsch (Jeremy), Sarah Price (Brian) and Jennie Davis (Sam); and his grandchildren, Britain, Gabriel Goetsch, Bethany Price, Claire, Lizzy, Samuel and Emma Davis. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 17th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Mullins Presbyterian Church (809 Sandy Bluff Rd, Mullins, SC 29574). A memorial service was held on Sunday, November 17th 2024 at 2:30 PM at the Center Church Cemetery (3257 Center Church Rd, Mullins, SC 29574).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mullins Presbyterian Church or Dogs on Deployment, a national organization that helps military service members find temporary foster care for their pets while deployed overseas.
