He was predeceased by: his parents, William Bates and Alma Jennie Griffin Looper; and his brothers, William Tommy Looper and James Leonard Looper. He is survived by: his wife Thelma Buchanan Looper; his children, Frank Looper (Jackie) and Nancy Looper; his sisters, Marie Underwood, Joann Tate and Jeanette Gregg; his grandson Randy Looper (Hannah); and his great grandchildren, Kaitlynn Looper and Kyle Looper.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cox Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 605 Hart Cut Rd., Marietta, SC 29661.
