He was predeceased by: his parents, J. W. James and Nettie Hurd James; his sister Maida James Di Rocco; and his granddaughter Cadence Rae James. He is survived by: his wife Pat Rodgers James; his sister Candy Hohlweg (Marty) of Easley, SC; his sons, Dennis James (Karen) of Alvin, TX, David James of Cleveland, SC and Travis James (Crysti) of Travelers Rest, SC.; his grandchildren, Claire Sutton (Michael), Aaron James (Suzanna), Ben James (Kelli), Eli, Olivia, Jordan, Meredith, Natalie and James of Indiana; his great grandchildren, Colton, Dalton and Easton Sutton; and his grandchildren, Rylie, Erin and Fiona James. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
