He was predeceased by: his parents, William Harry and Caroline Cox; and his sister Helen Nelson. He is survived by: his wife Patricia McClain Cox; his children, Tammy Cox Bridgman (Mark) and Joe W. Cox II; his sister Judy Edwards (Bruce); his grandsons, Joe W. Cox III (Lindsey), Jacob Cantrell (Emily) and Zeb Bridgman; and his great grandchild Lainey Grace.
