He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Boersema and Mary Halbersma Boersema. He is survived by: his wife Karen Renee Boersema; his children, Jacinda Boersema of Santee, Luke Johnson of Greencastle, PA and Alyssa Faircloth (Josh) of Winston-Salem, NC; his stepchildren, Cody Ussery of Manning, Ashley Barfield of Sumter and McLeod Barfield (Trinidy Nelson) of Sumter; his grandchildren, McKenzye, Neveah and Murphy; his stepgrandson Hudson; his siblings, Curt Boersema (Julie) of Raymond, WA and Shellie Denton of Aberdeen, WA; his stepmother Carolyn Boersema of Greenville; and his brother-in-law Andy McLeod (Mary) of Laurens.
