Sandra Gail Ayers Kennard Obituary

MANNING – Sandra Gail Ayers "Sandi" Kennard, 76, died Friday, December 30, 2022, at McLeod Health Clarendon.

Born September 16, 1946, in Virginia Beach, VA, she was a daughter of the late Pete Stone and the late Marie Lucy Ayers Stone. She was a volunteer with several organizations including the Taste of Clarendon, Meals on Wheels, Habitat for Humanity, and the Salvation Army. She was a member of Manning First Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, James "Pat" Yates of Manning; three children, Richard Kennard (Joy) of Manning, Heather Morris (Richie) of Sumter and John Parrack (Michelle) of Manning; a stepson, Jamie Yates of Manning; a stepdaughter, Stephanie McLaughlin (Phil) of Turbeville; eleven grandchildren; a great granddaughter; a brother, Alvie Stone of Hampton, VA; two sisters, Becky Gregory of North Carolina and Susan Stone of Virginia; and her beloved pets, Abby, Raven and Harry.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard S. Kennard, Sr.; a sister, Brenda Ayers Compton; and a brother, Randy Stone.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 2, 2023, in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home with the Rev. John Matthews officiating.

The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service and other times at the residence, 1986 Lakewood Drive, Manning.
