He was predeceased by: his parents, James Carson Phillips and Lucy Odom Phillips; and his siblings, Pauline P. Lesesne Gregg, Robert Phillips, Corrine P. Bradham Jennings, James Carson Phillips, Jr., Ashley Phillips and Carolyn P. Stewart.
He is survived by: his wife Geraldine Baker (Jeri). He is also survived by nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Manning First Baptist Church, Music Department, 49 West Boyce Street, Manning, SC 29102.
