It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joretta May Lathan Carper of Manning, South Carolina, born in Anderson, Indiana, who passed away on October 15, 2021, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, James Lathan and Mary Crouch Lathan; and her son James Barton Epperly, Jr.. She is survived by: her husband Earl Lester Carper; her children, Michael T. Epperly (Toni) of Greenville and Candace J. Brock of Clemson; and her grandchildren, Tiffany Marie Brock, Lisa Annette Craigo (Daniel), Jessica Annette Brock and James Michael Epperly. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren.
