With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of James Patrick Yates Sr. (Manning, South Carolina), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 4, 2025 at the age of 79. He was predeceased by: his parents, Jim Purvis Yates and Margaret Coker Yates; and his brothers-in-law, George McLeod and George Scott. He is survived by: his children, Stephanie McLaughlin (Phil) of Turbeville and Jamie Yates of Manning; his stepdaughters, Carlette Bradham Whiteside (Mike) of Newberry and Ginny Pauling (Jimmy) of Arkansas; and his siblings, Judy McLeod of Sumter, Debbie Scott of Sumter, Joel Yates (Dawn) of Sumter, Bracy Yates (Kathy) of Sumter and Mike Yates (Patsy) of Sumter. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 15th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Stephens Funeral Home & Crematory (304 N Church St, Manning, SC 29102).
