He was predeceased by: his parents, Homer Thomerson and Mary Wilmoth Thomerson; his son Michael Thomerson; and his sister Linda Fleming. He is survived by: his wife Doris; his children, Krista Chassereau (Hal), Kevin Thomerson (Sandy) and Jennifer Stewart (Blake); his grandchildren, Macy Medlock (Matt), Emma Jimenez (Cesar), Tanner Chassereau, Gavin Crawford, Braylon Stewart, Eleanor Stewart and Lincoln Stewart; his great grandchild Xavier Jimenez; and his siblings, Elizabeth Beverly (Creed) and David Thomerson (Judy). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.
