She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel Hinton Underwood and Doris LaVerne Beane Underwood; and her sister Martha Ella Musselwhite. She is survived by: her husband Jack Melvin Gallagher; her children, Penni Crews (Larry) of St. Augustine, FL, Mark Gallagher (Mary) of Columbia, SC and Christi Olinger; and her sisters, Peggy Warfford and Betty Faircloth. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren.
