He was predeceased by: his parents, James William Childers and Carolyn Juanita Browder Childers. He is survived by: his wife Cathy Joan Rigdon Childers; his stepchildren, Melissa Sanders of Pelion and John Sanders of Pelion; and his siblings, Farron Childers (Ruby) of Sumter, Vicki Butler of Pinewood and Sandra Watford (Ryan) of Sumter. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
