She was predeceased by: her husband James Ralph Clayton, Jr.; her parents, Lawrence Adolph Brewer and Emma Alice Holladay Brewer; her daughter Alice Clayton Pearson; and her sister Mildred Brewer Carrigan.
She is survived by: her sons, Felix B. "Butch" Clayton of St. Augustine, FL, James R. "Jimmy" Clayton III (Joann) of Chapel Hill, NC, John R. "Randy" Clayton of Columbia and Robert Brewer Clayton of St. Augustine, FL. She is also survived by ten grandchildren; and sixteen great grandchildren.
