She was predeceased by: her parents, Leroy Johnson and Lucille Odom Johnson; her sister Susie Johnson; and her former husband Mendel W. Gay, Jr.. She is survived by: her children, Jesse Alan Gay of Hanahan, M. W, Grayson (Susan) of Lexington and Wiley S. Lowder, III of Mississippi; her grandchildren, Andrew, Rachel and David; and her brothers, Mack Johnson (Mary) of North Carolina and Randy Johnson of Alcolu. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
