He is survived by: his children, Jesse Ray Gardner, Jr. (Melanie) and Cynthia Hood Brown; his granddaughter Selena Gray Gardner; his siblings, Gladys Reaves Slayton, Shirley Reaves Haynes, Patricia Reaves McCoy, Vasco Stephen Reaves, Jr., Elder Robert Lee Reaves and Kenneth Wayne Reaves; his friends, Helen Preston and Fred Davis; and his significant other Della Vereen.
