He was predeceased by: his parents, Nazareth Baxter and Luetisher Tindal Baxter; his daughter Cathy Fran Baxter Dunham; and his siblings, Johnny Lee Baxter, James Baxter, Caron Calhoun, Maybell Newkirk, Lillie Hamilton, Loretta Murray, Gladys St. Thomas and Rosa Jane Fullard.
He is survived by: his wife Catherine Davis Baxter of Lynchburg, SC; his children, Daisy B. Calhoun of Sumter, Margaret Wilson Wilder of Sumter, Julia B. Carter of Sumter, Brenda Williams (Staphon) of Sumter, David Lesane of Sumter, SC, Ronnie Baxter (Angela), Valdosta and Richard Baxter; his siblings, Luetisha Baxter Dickey of Lynchburg, SC, Cardia Baxter Gamble and Baltimore, MD; and his pet Gabby. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 20 great-grands, one great-great grandchild.
