It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Azalee Wells Hampton of Lynchburg, South Carolina, born in Sumter, South Carolina, who passed away on January 18, 2024, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Wells and Rebecca Wells (Parrott) of Lynchburg; and her siblings, Henry, Jr. and Ruby Wells. She is survived by: her husband Nathaniel Hampton, Jr. of Sumter, SC; her daughters, Tonya Hampton of Hillcrest Heights, MD and Keesha Johnson (Herbert) of Columbia, SC; her stepson Dwayne Nelson (Tonya) of Sumter, SC; her grandchildren, Bradley, Donovan, Maleeya, McKenzie, Tyler and Mariah; her great grandchildren, Marlie and Kamryn; her siblings, Isaac Wells (Mary) of Jacksonville, FL, Minnie McElveen (Levan) of Lynchburg, SC, Ruth Jones (Bobby) of Jacksonville, Florida, Ivory Davis of Lynchburg, SC and Betty Wells of Dalzell, SC; her siblings-in-law, Harold Hampton (Margaret), Carnell Hampton (Carrie), Vera Gardner (Ricky), Ellaree Hampton and Loretta Hampton; and her close friends, Nancy Colclough and Azalee Harry. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
