He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Godfrey and Mittie Ruth Godfrey; and his brothers, Bobby Godfrey and Billy Godfrey. He is survived by: his wife Margaret Ann Godfrey; his children, Kim Lunsford (Rick), Leslie Greathouse and Mike Godfrey (Jane); and his grandchildren, Justin Lunsford, Olivia West, Shane Greathouse, Lauren Jutila and Adelaide West.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shriner's Children's Hospital or Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.
