He was predeceased by: his mother Kate H. Parris; his wife Frances Parris (Cudd); his children, Crystal Vaughn, Phillip Parris and Alvin Parris; and his siblings, Audrey Parris and Junior Parris.
He is survived by: his son James Irvin Parris, Jr. (Shirley) of Wellford; his grandson Charlie Finney; and his great grandchildren, Adam Finney of Wellford and C. J. Finney of Wellford.
