He was predeceased by: his parents, Ira C. Ballenger and Pauline Blalock Ballenger; his son Shawn Ballenger; and also Patricia Parks Ballenger. He is survived by: his wife Pat Ballenger; his sons, Donald Ballenger (Lisa) and Brian Ballenger (Brandi); and his stepson Scott Ballenger (Laura). He is also survived by five grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
