He is survived by: his children, Edward Gibson of Lamar, David Dargan (Tori) of Hartsville, Isaac Dargan of Lamar and Louise Rivers of Sumter; his sister Fannie Mae McCoy; and his caregiver Voncelle Anderson of Lamar. He is also survived by twenty-one grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren.
