He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar B. Atkinson and Nita Mae Byrd; and his siblings, Robert Atkinson and Betty Jane Osborne. He is survived by: his brother William Atkinson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and nephews.
