With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mary Carter of Lugoff, South Carolina, born in Town Creek, Alabama, who passed away on April 16, 2024. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Mary Carter to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her husband James Franklin Carter, Sr.; her parents, Marcus Tinsley Tidwell and Lurlie Mae Markham Tidwell; and her siblings, James Tidwell and Betty Joe Barnes.

She is survived by: her children, Jimmy Carter (Debbie), Pam Spivey (Don) and Cheryl Cobb (Randy); and her brother Harold Tidwell (Mary Lou). She is also survived by 9 grandchildren; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to United Way of Kershaw County or First Baptist Church, Camden.
