He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Layne and Hazel Layne; his granddaughter Jennifer "Jenny Lenny" Wray; his stepson Johnny Williams; his stepgrandson Nicholas Reed; and his siblings, Frida, Frank, Lydia, Barbara and Thomas.
He is survived by: his children, Rick Layne (Shelia) of Fayetteville, N. C. and Teresa Wray of Columbus, GA; his significant other Ola Mae Williams; his stepchildren, Connie Sue Sirovica (Scott) and Sharla Shirey (Edward); his sister Denise Layne; the mother of his children Dorothy Layne; and his close friend Dustin Mitchell. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren.
