With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James L. Mayes (Lugoff, South Carolina), born in Florence, South Carolina, who passed away on July 2, 2022. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Woodrow and Laura Mae Gibson Mays; and his sister Barbara Mays. He is survived by: his children, Michelle Killman (John), Barry Mays (Bertha) and Brandon Mays (Lindsay); his grandchildren, Greer Douglas (Sam), Johnny Killman Jr. (Christy), Aiden and Nash; and his great grandchild Teagan Douglas.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Elgin's Toys for Tots c/o Elgin Town Hall.
