She was predeceased by: her parents, Zillie Goodwin Sr. and Minnie Williams Goodwin; her husband Rosenwald Kirkland Sr.; her sons, Rosenwald Kirkland, Jr. and Joseph B. Kirkland; and her siblings, Zillie Goodwin, Willie James "Buddy" Goodwin, Louise Robinson, Annie Bell Scott, Catherine Davis, Rosalee Goodwin, Lucinda Sanders and Geneva Kirkland.

She is survived by: her children, Willie Kirkland Sr. (Deborah), Alfred B. Kirkland, James K. Kirkland (Sharon), Frances K. Wood, Juanita P. of Washington, Daisy K. Kennedy (Willie) and Jackie Jackson; and her daughter-in-law Thomasina Kirkland. She is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
