He was predeceased by: his parents, Horace Gladden Sr. and Lily Mae McMurray Gladden; and his siblings, Horace Gladden, Jr., Sarah Pounds, Minnie Gladden, Leila Gladden and James Gladden.
He is survived by: his wife Judy Marlene Reynolds Gladden; his children, Edward Douglas Gladden Jr. (Victoria) of Jacksonville, Fla., Ginger Gladden Jones (Jerry) of Lancaster, S. C. and Harriet Barker (George) of Elgin; his siblings, Rebecca Cauthen of Lancaster and Pete Roebuck of Pelion; and his grandchildren, Haleigh Rodrigues (Kevin), Megan Gladden, Hunter Gladden, Katie Jones, Haven Jones, Melinda Barker and Kayla Buff (Thomas). He is also survived by 3 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a Diabetes, Heart or Cancer Association.
