He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie McGee and Mary Ellen Tucker McGee; his wife Elouise Campbell McGee; his daughter Peggy Cathen McCaulttey; and his siblings, George W. McGee and Eddie Benjamin McGee.

He is survived by: his children, Mary Ann Ruff (Thomas), Sandra E. McGee Dodd (Charles), Charlie Louis McGee, Jr. and Frankie Lee McGee; and his siblings, Nellie Jones, Leila Mae McGee, Thomas McGee, Jimmy McGee, Jerry Hazel McGee (Kizzie) and Milton McGee. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren, and numerous other relatives.
