He is survived by: his sons, Calvin T. Bowen, Jr. (Hiroko) and Ronnie Bowen (Fonda). He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Epilepsy Foundation.
